Buachaille Etive Beag

Sunday 16th September 2018

Walk Details

A classic short day in Glencoe. Buachaille Etive Beag has all of the majesty of its big brother to the east but takes a lot less time. From the car park across from the Beehive Cairn there is a very good path that does get steep up to the main ridge of Mam Buidhe. From here we will head south to the highest point, and first munro, of Stob Dubh. The ridge looks very narrow and steep but as you get closer the ridge is quite wide and the path very clear. There is no scrambling involved.

From the top you can keep going south to a secondary top where the view down toward Glen Etive and Ben Starav are quite breath taking on a clear day.

Once ready we will then head back along the ridge and then ascend the steep, but not too long, slope to Stob Coire Rainach. From here views down Glencoe and Aonach Eagach will reward the effort.
